Good morning. Ever have that feeling of walking out onto a stage and the director of the play has just handed you the script seconds ago. The audience expects you to postulate and recite with such emotion that they will leave the auditorium with tears and cheers. Instead you look down and open the book and read in a monotone or much worse, unsure voice ending each phrase in a quetsion, as if to say “is this right?”
Welcome to the nightmare. But guess what…you can wake up from that dream! And even though I often do wake up from it in a sweat, I am glad to know that there is no script to life and that’s what makes it fun! The audience hangs on every question and movement and you suddenly realize that you are the co-star at least, and that the audience loves it!
So here I am in the next act. The age of the blog. And though I have resisted it, mostly out of sheer ignorance to how this works, I have joined it. I hope I make a statement. As a wise writer once said, “that the powerful play goes on and I may contrigute a verse.” So here is part of my verse. I hope you join me and encourage me, and let me encourage you. I don’t know exactly how this works, but I will keep you updated as often as I can and I assume you can subscribe to my blog and keep in touch with me and my head.
So for the very first topic: I awoke this morning thinking about wireless internet. And I wondered, since you can receive emails and downloads via wireless, does that mean if someone were to attach a virus to their email, could your computer get it? And if so, do you realize what that means? That now our machines can catch “airborne” contagens just like we humans can. Thoughts of “I, Robot” and “The Matrix” begin to haunt me again. How quickly we speed towards the future. Whay waste time and energy going to mars? Why not try and build a huge space station in earth’s orbit and then launch mission into the unknown from there?
Told you this would be a trip. I will share many more sane thoughts in the days and weeks ahead. But I hope to use this as a dumping ground for thoughts like the one mentioned above. I love you for sticking with me!
